Marala Hotel General Terms, Payment, Cancellation and Refund Policies

We welcome you to Costa Rica’s pristine boutique hotel which is situated overlooking the Central coast of the Pacific Ocean in Esterillos.

Applicable for Online Bookings made through the Hotel Official Website: www.maralahotel.com.

By confirming the Online booking process, you authorize Marala Hotel to charge to your credit card registered the corresponding amount. If there is any problem with the credit card transaction throughout the booking process, you must register a new card to obtain a confirmation.

To immediately guarantee your reservation, a 50% deposit is required on the total amount upon confirmation.

The Hotel will charge the remaining balance automatically to the same credit card that we have on record, 30 days prior to the arrival date.

Also, the Hotel reserves the right to validate only reservations covered by a deposit, and reservations not guaranteed would be canceled without notice.

Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be done in written form and get a written acknowledgment from the Hotel Reservation desk to be processed.

GREEN SEASON (From April 16th until December 15th)

Cancellation Request Received:
At least 15 days or more prior to the arrival date will get a 100% refund less $100 USD of the penalty fee per room.

Cancellation Request Received:
Between 14 days and 4 days before the arrival date, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.

Cancellation Request Received:
Within 3 days or less prior to the arrival date, NO refund is due.Late Bookings (reservations made within 3 days prior to the arrival date) are non-refundable after the payment has been processed. No refund for cancellation will be issued.

HIGH SEASON (From January 2nd until April 15th)

Cancellation Request Received:
At least 30 days or more prior to the arrival date will get a 100% refund less $100 USD of the penalty fee per room.

Cancellation Request Received:
Between 29 days and 15 days before the arrival date, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.

Cancellation Request Received:
Within 14 days or less prior to the arrival date, NO refund is due.
Late Bookings (reservations made within 3 days prior to the arrival date) are non-refundable after the payment has been processed. No refund for cancellation will be issued.

PEAK SEASON (From December 16th until January 3rd)

Cancellation Request Received:
At least 45 days or more prior to the arrival date will get a 100% refund less $100 USD of the penalty fee per room.

Cancellation Request Received:
Between 44 days and 30 days before the arrival date, 50% of the deposit will be refunded.

Cancellation Request Received:
Within 29 days or less prior to the arrival date, NO refund is due.

Late Bookings (reservations made within 3 days prior to the arrival date) are non-refundable after the payment has been processed. No refund for cancellation will be issued.

NO-SHOW is Non-Refundable regardless of the reason. No refunds will be issued for unused room nights due to early departures, regardless of the reason.
The Hotel will refund immediately the money that corresponds to the same credit card that was originally used to pay for the booking, only if the refund is applicable and adheres to the policies stated above. 

During the Holidays Season (From December 22nd, until January 3rd, each calendar year) the Full Payment of the reservation is required due to a special policy.

FORCE MAJEURE CLAUSE: Marala Hotel is exempted from the liability for failure to execute arrangements specified herein directly or indirectly caused by or in consequence of any conditions beyond human control. Marala Hotel assumes no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to person or property in connection with any service resulting directly from acts of God, detention annoyance, strikes, riots, civil disturbances, quarantines, weather conditions, traffic delays, flights delays, government restrictions or regulations. Responsibility cannot be accepted for any loss, damage, or additional expenses due to any or all of the above. All such losses or expenses must be borne by the customer. The Hotel assumes that the clients have access to sources of protecting themselves against such contingencies as travel insurance and others, and they have already taken actions to protect themselves in each of these cases.
However, the option to rebook is subject to the availability of rooms covered by the dates of visit.
